Makena Surf F208 Beachfront Resort

We stayed at Makena Surf Condo F208 managed by Destination Residences. When a hurricane was headed toward the condo, Destination Residences was quick to respond to our emails, allowed us to postpone our stay a few days, and even offered us a full refund. The Destination Residences office was close to the condo. Staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful. The 2 bedroom/2 bath condo was perfect, quiet, clean, beautiful, luxurious, comfortable, & air conditioned. Housekeepers cleaned up every morning while we were out. We didn’t want to leave!

We stayed at Makena Surf #F208 last week and we all absolutely loved it! Our group consisted of me and my husband, our two young daughters, and my parents. We stayed for five nights and it didn't feel long enough! My husband and I have been to Maui once before and stayed in Kapalua, so we weren't very familiar with the Wailea/Makena area. There are an overwhelming amount of options for rental condos and we put hours of research into deciding where to stay. I am so happy that we chose to stay at Makena Surf! The view of the ocean and the close proximity to the beaches are unbeatable. Waking up early in the morning you have a breathtaking view of the stars, and the view of the sunset from the lanai is something you'll want to catch every day. Also, don't miss snorkeling the reefs out front in the mornings! We waited a few days before snorkeling there and wished we had gone every day. We saw lots of sea turtles and a wonderful variety of fish. We discovered that this is a popular spot for snorkel and kayak-snorkel tours that show up later in the morning. I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet and peaceful atmosphere at Makena Surf. We didn't hear noise from any other condo and the pool was never crowded. The condo itself is just as lovely as the pictures show. The grounds are gorgeously landscaped and meticulously maintained. Oh - and the best surprise for me was that housekeeping came every day to make beds, take out the trash, and replace towels. What a treat! My only very minor complaint is that the wifi signal didn't reach the bedrooms. But everything else was wonderful! I am already looking forward to when we can go back to Maui and stay at Makena Surf #F208 again.

A Previous reviewer got it right .......WOW!. We had such a wonderful time at the condo. Our expectations were high on what to expect but they were exceeded in every way. From the moment we opened the door and could see the BLUE ocean to the short stroll to the beach along the patio’s paradise like walkway followed by rounding the corner to the beach that provided the most amazing breathtaking panoramic view of everything Hawaii. Then of course came sunset, viewed almost daily from the large Lanai, an ever changing canvas throughout the sunset and every evening starting with a clean sheet. The Condo itself was very elegant without being stuffy in the least, it allowed us to lay back with ample room and comfort for each of the 5 in our party. All creature comforts and more were provided. The restaurants we found to be very good and returned to least a couple of times were the the Cafe ole, 808 and the Sansei. Can't wait to get back there! Awesome! The view (over 180 degrees) was spectacular. We watched whales and turtles everyday from the lanai. Loved how the lanai doors opened completely and brought the outside in. There is a beautiful beach for relaxing and fantastic snorkling adjacent to the property. Our family of 5 adults was very comfortable. This unit was nicely updated with comfortable couches, beds, seating and the master bedroom's double headed "rain" shower was a huge plus! We had all the cooking utensils/supplies we needed plus more to cook there everynight. It was also nice having the grill right on the lanai and a complete herb garden on property! In addition, we ate at a nearby restaurant called the Monkey Pod Kitchen that was delicious. Enjoyed our stay very much and we will be back!

Finally getting around to writing about our great time here. The unit is completely remodeled, private, right on the ocean and has a spectacular view of the islands and beach. Weddings happen on the beach all the time. Watching them we decided to get married here. We also sent my wife's son and his new wife here to stay for their honeymoon last year. They loved it as much as we did. The unit has two bedrooms and baths so you can bring the kids, but it's even better without them (master shower is big enough for two). This year Fiji, next year we'll be back.
